Mother and Baby Yoga

From as early as 6 weeks you can practise yoga with your baby. Benefical for both of you, it is a fun yet gentle way to exercise with your baby and get back into shapre at the same time. By practising baby yoga you are not only focusing on the baby but giving something back to yourself. Seeing the delight your baby gains from yoga is hugely rewarding. It is something you enjoy together away from the routine and chores required from you at this time.

Happy Baby

Movment, touch, sound, repetition, all help to strengthen the bond with your baby. In class you will learn adapted yoga exercises for your baby which will stretch and open your baby's body from the fetal position, strengthen their muscles and improve head control, stimulate all their bodily systems and senses, enhancing your baby's development. Some of the practices taught can help to soothe colic, crying or poor sleep. Enjoying close contact with you enhances communication and trust. A short relaxation is always included at the end of the class, many babies fall to sleep after experiencing so much physical activity. This is an important time for both of you to experience the healing effects of relaxation. Practised together, in time if you relax, your baby relaxes.

Happy Mummy

Correct posture is essential but even more so during the post natal period when your body is recovery from childbirth. During the class everything we do helps to improve posture, focusing on regaining pelvic and abdominal strength. You will be shown ways to safely pick up, hold and carry your baby with good posture in mind. Many of the practices help to ease aches and pains as a result from carrying your baby both post and pre-natally and these in turn help to renew your energy yet feel more relaxed.

Before attending you both must have had your 6 week check, it is worth mentioning to your health visitor you are thinking of coming. A registration form must be completed and payment received before your first class.
